As with our first informal gathering of MGCs in March, if we had only been 24 hours earlier the weather might have been a little kinder to us.
Still, eight MGCs, evenly split between Roadsters and GTs, one MG RV8 and a token MGB GT braved the torrential downpours and supported the meeting at The Kingsley Village, Fraddon, Cornwall. The Management of the Shopping and Conference complex had kindly allowed us to use the paved area in front of the entrance to the Food and Craft Halls to display our cars and provide an interesting attraction for the hundreds of shoppers who filled the car park long before the Halls were open for business.
Sincere thanks go to Peter Ferguson for
travelling down to Cornwall from Totnes and as such, we allowed him to park his
MG RV8 alongside a fine line up of 3 Litres. Well, he has the gearbox out of his
MGC GT at the moment and it seemed mean not to let him in!
Thanks also to Tony Piotrowicz for coming down from Bude in his Nightfire Red GT
and to John Causley for taking time off from his Taw & Torridge duties in
Barnstable. We look forward to seeing Tony's matching MGC Roadster when it is
completed next year.
To all who attended this second MGC meeting in Cornwall, many thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you in 2008.
